Managing Director, Oxford City CouncilHelen has worked in many sectors, including retail, education, offices and healthcare, but has a passion for housing. Helen started her career as a Quantity Surveyor and over the last twenty years her professional career has been predominantly been that of Employer’s Agent. Working as a Consultant has allowed Helen to deliver schemes under various structures, operating models, and financial profiles, of both private sector businesses, charitable organizations, registered providers and local authorities. Prior to joining Oxford City Housing Limited Housing Limited as Managing Director, in August 2021, Helen was the Head of Development and lead officer in the delivery of homes for Stoke-on-Trent’s wholly owned housing company Fortior Homes. Helen led on the completion and occupation of Clayworks a 151 units PRS apartment block which formed the anchor to the Smithfield cultural quarter redevelopment. During her time at Stoke-on-Trent, Helen focused the Business Plan of Fortior Homes into a more commercial direction and worked with Partner Developers on bespoke structures to deliver multi tenure homes on brownfield sites. Helen has managed and delivered under HIF and was instrumental in the successful Levelling Up bid for 2 major regeneration schemes with strong residential anchors and a further 3 heritage sites with housing at their core. Oxford City Housing Limited is predominantly delivering affordable homes and with Helen’s belief that good quality design in housing providing the foundation of sustainable communities, improved education, health and economic growth to the local area she is taking Oxford City Housing Limited into the next phase of delivery and operation.
Kate Ives
Geographer, town planner, housing practitioner and social impact investor, CountrysideCountryside, one of the UK’s leading mixed-tenure developers specialising in place making and regeneration, has appointed Kate Ives as Strategic Growth Director to support the delivery of the company’s growth plans in London and the south of England.
With almost 20 years’ experience spanning all aspects of regeneration scheme delivery in London and the south of England, Kate will continue to build on Countryside’s solid track record as a housing partner of choice in London and, supporting the government’s levelling up agenda, commuter town centres.
Kate’s considerable experience engaging local communities and contributors to understand the social, economic and environmental impact of estate regeneration and town centre schemes will be key to the successful delivery of Countryside’s growth plans. Her experience and ability in delivering successful regeneration through effective partnerships is second to none, having worked on some of the largest and most complex regeneration projects in London.
In addition to supporting Countryside’s growth plans, Kate will also be utilising her experience to ensure the delivery of the company’s recently announced 2030 Carbon Zero commitments.
Most recently, Kate was the Strategic Growth Director for Wates, responsible for growing the company’s investments in new developments across London and the south east and prior to this she held the role of Development Director and Board Member of First Base. Kate is also a Non-Executive Director for an affordable housing provider, Barking and Dagenham Homes Limited.

Catherine is particularly involved with ensuring that we help as many customers as possible to realise their homeownership dreams. Whilst at Bromford She has been responsible for leading the Sales and Marketing transformation goal of delivering a new portal for Bromford properties and to be shortly followed by a new CRM system.
Catherine has brought over 25 years of experience to her role, including experience working for Barratt Homes, St Modwen Homes, and other large developers as well as in financial services. As a result of this background, her approach is very commercial, and customer-focused.

Independent housing policy consultant, former No 10 special adviser, Chair No Place Left Behind Commission, Create Streets FoundationToby Lloyd has worked in housing policy across the public, private and voluntary sectors for over ten years. He joined Shelter as Head of Policy in 2011, leads on all aspects of housing supply, and led Shelter’s proposal for new garden city that was the runner-up for the Wolfson Economics Prize 2014. Previously he led Navigant Consulting’s policy and strategy division, where he advised local and national government and the private sector on housing, planning and regeneration. He has been a senior policy manager for the Greater London Authority, a project manager for the London Rebuilding Society, and taught financial history at the LSE. He is also part of the Hackney Cohousing Project that is seeking to build an innovative community-led, mixed tenure housing development.

Catherine Ryder
Director of Policy and Research, National Housing FederationCatherine currently leads the Federation’s work on the Social Housing Green Paper. Catherine has also worked as Advisor to the Chief Executive at the Federation and recently spent some time working on economic development and housing at Coast to Capital – a Local Enterprise Partnership in Surrey and Sussex. Before joining the Federation Catherine worked at the Audit Commission as a Strategy Manager, leading the development of assessment frameworks for local government.

Jo has taken her in-house knowledge to make sure clients understand the 'why?' of their sales and marketing activities to ensure buyers & renters have a fantastic customer experience. Some would call Jo obsessed with her spaniel Jack, becoming somewhat of a 'burger connoisseur' and her's is a glass of bubbly or a beer if you're buying.

Derek joined LBG after finishing his Law Degree, and when not working is equally busy at home with his wife & 3 young children.
Nick Whitten
Head of UK Living Research, JLLNick manages the day to day operations of the JLL Residential and Living Research team which covers the residential, student accommodation and later living sectors in the UK.
The team provides UK market briefing papers and thought leadership that supports the wider private sale residential, affordable housing, build-to-rent, student accommodation and later living advisory and agency businesses at JLL. Nick’s team engages directly with Government to provide policy advice and with JLL’s clients to provide transactional support and strategic consultancy advice.
Nick’s experience spans advisory for both public and private sector clients on residential development and investment opportunities. He acts as a JLL spokesperson for a wide range of housing market-related issues and is regularly cited in national and international media. He is also a regular speaker at property industry conferences.
Nick is also chair of the JLL EMEA Research Technology Hub which is exploring how technology is changing real estate.
Nick spent 13 years working as a journalist, seven of which were in the property industry. He joined JLL in 2014 from property journal Estates Gazette where he developed a well-known industry profile as News Editor. Prior to that he was Business Editor at Construction News.
